Stream One: Masterplanning & Design

This stream will discuss the value of place making in a transit oriented development which is significant in creating commercially successful projects, new architectural and planning elements, develop diversified and vibrant destinations, forward planning in creating a sustainable development, creating an innovative mix of uses, ensuring a seamless integration between multimodal transportation and mixed developments, understanding the relationship and effects of a successful TOD model on the lives of people, maximising spatial planning and benefiting developers & consumers through properly planned TODs.

Stream Two: Commercialisation & Development

This stream will discuss the funding and financing model and value creation in a transit oriented development. Among the focus of this stream is to understanding tenure and ownership structure in a transit oriented development, understand challenges of the development at different phases of construction, commercialisation that drives profitability and ROI, developing the best feed off component that will generate the primary revenue to support the construction of other components, learning how to make the existing projects commercially viable by adding the innovative elements and regenerate it to earn the lost value and developing new strategies to attract partnerships between different transport agencies, establish a versatile development with a mix of various elements and not limited to retail.

DAY 3 – Articulating Densities: The 3V approach to Transit Oriented Developments

The value (3V) framework outlines a typology to facilitate TOD implementation at the metropolitan and urban scale in various contexts. The 3V Framework equips delegates with quantified indicators to better understand the interplay between the economic vision for the city, its land use and mass transit network, and urban qualities and market vibrancy around its mass transit stations.
